The alpine gourmet can take his pick of the 30 Alm houses and huts in the valley meadows, for which the valley is famous whilst the mountainbikers and walkers explore the hundreds of miles of trails. Salzburg and Berchtesgarten are only an hour away, of course, and the nearby salt mines and ice caves are amongst the many popular attractions in the area.
